Responsibilities
- Build and maintain custom Shopify Hydrogen storefronts using React Router and implement complex commerce features and headless integrations.
- Develop responsive React interfaces with HTML and CSS and own storefront performance.
- Migrate legacy Shopify Liquid and Django frontends to Hydrogen while preserving data integrity and minimizing business disruption.
- Extend Python/Django applications and GraphQL integrations connecting Shopify with internal ERP, PIM, and CRM systems.
- Build custom middleware, feed generators, Algolia reindexing logic, data exchange layers, and API endpoints.
- Manage deployment infrastructure, pipelines, environments, releases, and troubleshooting for Oxygen and other edge platforms.
- Translate ambiguous business requests into technical solutions and identify when architectural or business-level escalation is needed.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience building custom e-commerce storefronts with Shopify Hydrogen, React, and React Router.
- Experience developing headless commerce solutions and complex frontend functionality.
- Hands-on experience maintaining and extending Python/Django applications.
- Deep understanding of GraphQL APIs, REST integrations, and data synchronization across Shopify, ERP, CRM, and PIM platforms.
- Experience migrating legacy applications to modern architectures and working with monolithic codebases.
- Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines, deployment workflows, and cloud-hosted applications.
- Familiarity with Shopify Oxygen, edge platforms, containerized deployments, environment configuration, and infrastructure troubleshooting.
- Ability to write, debug, and optimize complex Shopify Admin and Storefront GraphQL queries.
- Strong English communication, self-direction, judgment about escalation, and full-time availability of 40 hours per week.
- Preferred experience includes migrating Liquid storefronts to Hydrogen, managing catalogs of 100,000 or more SKUs, SEO-sensitive migrations, Algolia, Storyblok, and React Router outside Hydrogen.
