Responsibilities
- Lead testing of TD Bank’s production-like infrastructure with an emphasis on automation and scale.
- Promote best practices for performance testing of scalable and reliable services.
- Partner with engineering teams as a subject matter expert in performance and scale.
- Evolve performance testing frameworks, tools, and processes to meet scalability and best-practice needs.
- Conduct root-cause analysis of performance incidents, identify bottlenecks, and establish repeatable prevention processes.
- Advocate for and advise on performance tools and frameworks focused on quality, scalability, operability, and maintainability.
- Help define technical vision and architecture with performance considerations.
- Collaborate across organizational levels, functions, and boundaries.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of experience leading performance test engineering.
- At least 5 years of performance testing or monitoring web applications.
- Ability to code in a programming language using standard software development practices, including unit testing and iterative development.
- Track record of leading successful large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of network and edge technologies.
- Excellent Linux fundamentals and ability to diagnose system utilization.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and CI/CD pipelines for performance testing.
- Experience developing and automating performance test frameworks.
- Experience with large-scale distributed systems and large data volumes.
- Strong documentation, communication, collaboration, and influencing abilities.
- Experience with some of Azure, Docker, ECS, Kubernetes, MySQL, Java, Python, JMeter, Splunk, Prometheus, Dynatrace, and Datadog.
