Base Salary
$215k - $240k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the administrative services portfolio, including control-plane services, administrative interfaces, user and role administration, authentication and authorization, lifecycle management, and peripheral or middleware management.
- Define architecture, service boundaries, ownership models, roadmaps, and delivery plans for administrative capabilities across multiple environments and deployment types.
- Lead development and sustainment of administrative user experiences for system administrators, operations personnel, support and field teams, managers, and business users.
- Own provisioning, lifecycle management, role-based access control, permissions models, delegated administration, and secure administrative workflows.
- Oversee integration and lifecycle management for peripherals, drivers, SDKs, vendor APIs, middleware services, and version compatibility.
- Lead vendor engagement and define technical evaluation, certification, compatibility testing, documentation, and supportability processes for new components.
- Ensure reliable installation, upgrades, rollbacks, and support operations across globally distributed sites.
- Partner with architecture, platform engineering, security, field engineering, operations, and QA teams, and participate in technical triage and root-cause analysis.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field, or 4 additional years of experience in place of the degree.
- 10+ years of software engineering, data platform engineering, search engineering, or analytics platform experience, including 4+ years leading a major technical service area or team.
- Strong experience designing and delivering administrative or control-plane services for complex distributed systems.
- Experience with user and role management, authentication and authorization, administrative UI/UX, lifecycle orchestration, or device and peripheral management platforms.
- Experience leading cross-functional delivery across software, operations, QA, and field or support teams.
- Experience integrating third-party hardware peripherals, SDKs, middleware, drivers, and versioned dependencies into production systems.
- Ability to engage vendors, define certification standards, manage compatibility, and create technical documentation and support processes.
- Desired qualifications include a master’s degree, Linux-based distributed environment experience, Java backend services, modern frontend frameworks such as Vue.js, identity federation, remote field-system management, release engineering, observability, and mission-critical platform experience.
- A TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.
- Domestic and/or international project travel may be required.
