Base Salary

$147k - $238k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end technical initiatives for the Identity Governance & Administration platform from discovery and design through implementation, rollout, and long-term ownership.
  • Build high-impact full-stack features and modernize legacy frameworks using the MEAN stack.
  • Design cross-functional architectures that balance product requirements, security constraints, performance, and scalability.
  • Apply prompt and context engineering to create AI-assisted software development workflows and rigorously verify AI-generated code.
  • Establish engineering standards that improve testability, observability, and performance.
  • Lead design reviews and architecture discussions while mentoring and coaching engineers on implementation, testing, and security practices.
  • Collaborate with product and cross-functional stakeholders, using lightweight RFCs and clear communication to drive alignment without formal authority.
  • Integrate testing and monitoring into the software development lifecycle and improve system resilience through load and stress testing.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of extensive experience with the MEAN stack: MongoDB, Express, Angular, and Node.js.
  • Proven experience in cloud engineering environments, primarily using AWS.
  • Ability to reason across APIs, identity, observability, and other complex system layers to make durable technical decisions.
  • Expertise in prompt and context engineering and use of AI tools in software development, with rigorous peer review of outputs.
  • Deep practical knowledge of secure web development, including OWASP Top 10 mitigation, Zero Trust principles, and least-privilege access.
  • Strong communication and collaborative leadership skills, including facilitating design sessions, mentoring engineers, and driving stakeholder consensus.
  • Working knowledge of IAM, PAM, IGA, and secrets management is preferred.
  • Experience with cross-product component governance and unified design systems is preferred.
  • Familiarity with observability tools, feature flagging, and progressive delivery within CI/CD pipelines is preferred.
  • Proficiency in load and stress testing with tools such as JMeter is preferred.
  • Familiarity with privacy-by-design practices and GDPR, CCPA, or SOC2 compliance is preferred.
  • Fluency in TypeScript, RxJS, Signals, and modern testing frameworks such as Jest, Playwright, or Cypress is preferred.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and cross-functional communication skills are required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is required.
  • Ability to work a hybrid schedule in the Newton, MA area is required.
