Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Define and evangelize technical vision and decompose complex problems into practical, operational solutions.
- Ensure the quality of technical design and implementation, including performance, scalability, and operability.
- Modernize monolithic systems into microservice architectures and event-driven platforms.
- Collaborate with engineering and architecture leaders on long-term platform strategy and API standards.
- Provide hands-on technical contribution while mentoring engineers and strengthening technical expertise across engineering and product communities.
- Lead cross-divisional projects, architectural reviews, and technology best-practice initiatives.
- Create communications, code samples, blog posts, and other materials to share technical knowledge.
- Engineer high-throughput, low-latency payment and distributed systems, including solutions for transaction processing, integration, fraud, and risk mitigation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
- At least 7 years of experience in software engineering and solution architecture, enterprise architecture and design patterns, cloud computing, and data architecture.
- Preferred master’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
- Preferred 10+ years of experience with software engineering and solution architecture, web technologies, distributed HPC and ML systems, cloud computing, and data architecture.
- Preferred 10+ years of professional coding experience with languages such as Go, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Rust, C#, or Scala.
- Preferred 8+ years of experience with databases and database management systems.
- Preferred 10+ years of full system-development lifecycle experience, from conception through production support.
- Preferred 8+ years with public cloud platforms, cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies.
- Preferred 10+ years with networking protocols and third-party distributed-system integration.
- Preferred 5+ years mentoring senior engineers and driving professional development within technical teams.
- Preferred 2+ years leading cross-domain architectural reviews and establishing coding and design standards.
- Expertise in strategically applying agentic AI coding tools to systemic development challenges.

- Full-time annual salary ranges vary by location, including $244,700-$279,200 in Chicago, Plano, and Riverwoods and $269,100-$307,200 in McLean.
- Eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, including potential cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives.
