Base Salary
$191k - $239k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build network automation and orchestration systems for reliable global network deployment and operation.
- Develop software for network provisioning, configuration management, device lifecycle management, validation, monitoring, telemetry, and automated remediation.
- Integrate software with DPUs, SmartNICs, programmable network infrastructure, datacenter networks, network fabrics, routing infrastructure, and vendor platforms.
- Build abstractions and tools that simplify multi-vendor network operations and help engineers diagnose and resolve infrastructure issues.
- Lead high-impact projects from technical design through implementation, deployment, and long-term operation.
- Own technical direction, architecture decisions, RFCs, design documents, and technical proposals for major network infrastructure initiatives.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across the engineering organization.
Requirements
- Significant experience designing and building production software systems at scale.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals in distributed systems, API design, concurrency, testing, observability, and reliability.
- Strong programming experience in one or more of Go, Python, or C++.
- Experience building automation, orchestration, or infrastructure platforms.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, BGP, EVPN/VXLAN, VLANs, routing, switching, and network telemetry.
- Experience with network devices, network automation frameworks, APIs, or vendor SDKs.
- Experience designing systems that operate safely in highly available production environments.
- Strong technical writing skills and experience producing RFCs, architecture documents, technical proposals, project plans, and implementation plans.
- Ability to translate ambiguous infrastructure problems into scalable architectures and actionable plans.
- Ability to influence technical decisions across teams and lead without relying on organizational authority.
- Preferred experience includes DPUs, SmartNICs, IPUs, programmable data planes, eBPF, P4, SONiC, OpenConfig, gNMI, NETCONF, YANG, Kubernetes, cloud-native infrastructure, white-box networking, 400G+ datacenter networks, network observability, automated validation, and open-source infrastructure projects.
