Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Software Engineering teams to develop and implement features that improve system resilience, scalability, performance, and recovery.
- Develop automation tools and frameworks, including infrastructure-as-code practices, with guidance from peers and leaders.
- Contribute to system architecture discussions with a focus on reliability, scalability, and performance.
- Design and execute chaos engineering experiments and other resiliency testing methods.
- Support disaster recovery plans and business continuity strategies.
- Promote reliability practices including error budgets, service-level objectives, and service-level indicators.
- Collaborate with product and business teams to align technology initiatives with business objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or comparable experience.
- Knowledge of modern observability tools including Splunk, Elastic Search, Prometheus, and Grafana.
- Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker.
- Knowledge of logging, monitoring, tracing, and performance analysis platforms.
- Knowledge of cloud-based Site Reliability Engineering practices and public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Experience in software development or technology operations focused on Site Reliability Engineering.
- Experience with Linux/Unix systems, object-oriented programming languages such as Java, scripting languages such as Python and Bash, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Advanced certification in Site Reliability Engineering or a related area is preferred.
