Responsibilities
- Design, build, operate, and improve scalable and secure Databricks data platforms in an Azure-based cloud environment.
- Develop and maintain workspace standards, cluster policies, networking, integrations, and other shared platform components.
- Automate platform provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD pipelines.
- Improve platform reliability, performance, cost-efficiency, observability, developer experience, and self-service capabilities.
- Create reusable templates, libraries, reference architectures, standards, guardrails, and best practices for Databricks data engineering and analytics.
- Advise domain teams on designing and implementing data pipelines and analytical use cases on Databricks.
- Partner with architecture, security, and governance teams to align platform solutions with enterprise policies.
- Translate business and analytical requirements into robust and scalable technical solutions.
- Deliver training sessions, workshops, onboarding materials, documentation, and knowledge-sharing activities.
- Coach and mentor engineers and analysts and contribute to the Data & AI engineering culture.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree and corresponding thinking level.
- At least 5 years of experience in data platform engineering or data engineering in large-scale enterprise environments.
- Hands-on experience with Databricks for data engineering, analytics, or platform administration.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL, with familiarity with CI/CD practices.
- Solid understanding of data lake and lakehouse architectures, data ingestion and transformation patterns, and cloud-native data platforms.
- Comfort working in an agile Scrum environment and collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong enablement mindset and interest in helping other teams succeed.
- Preferred experience with Azure DevOps, Terraform, Bash, Azure CLI, or REST APIs.
- Preferred experience with data governance, security, access control concepts such as RBAC, analytics engineering tools, or Center of Excellence environments.
- Databricks certifications such as Data Engineer, Platform Administrator, or Solution Architect are desirable.
