Base Salary
$125k - $175k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain full-stack systems for WHOOP’s design system and translation infrastructure.
- Develop reusable frontend components and shared libraries using React and TypeScript.
- Implement internationalization, RTL layouts, and bidirectional text handling.
- Build and scale a unified design system across web and mobile platforms with Design.
- Develop backend services and RESTful APIs supporting translation workflows, content delivery, and localization pipelines.
- Ensure components are accessible, responsive, and adaptable to different languages, screen sizes, and regions.
- Maintain build and CI/CD systems using CircleCI and GitHub Actions.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, Platform, and Localization teams and contribute through code reviews and frontend architecture best practices.
Requirements
- 2–4 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Proficiency with JavaScript or TypeScript, React, and Node.js.
- Experience building and integrating RESTful APIs.
- Experience with frontend architecture, reusable UI components, or design systems.
- Experience translating Figma mockups into working interfaces.
- Understanding of internationalization and localization best practices, including RTL, bidirectional text, and localization edge cases.
- Familiarity with CSS, responsive design, modern layout techniques, relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL, and build or CI/CD tools.
- Experience with design system tooling such as Storybook or cross-platform component libraries.
- Exposure to translation platforms, localization pipelines, and design tokens for color modes and themes.
- Backend experience with Java, Python, or C#.
- Familiarity with Cloudflare, Vercel, or CloudFront.
- Experience with WCAG accessibility standards and inclusive design.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
