Responsibilities
- Design, build, and own Android applications for standalone scanning and Connected Stores use cases.
- Set Android architectural direction, establish development best practices, and improve code quality across the platform.
- Collaborate with Caper, Inventory Intelligence, and Fulfillment teams on real-time shelf intelligence and in-store data collection.
- Balance long-term architecture with rapid delivery and iteration in an ambiguous, evolving environment.
- Help define Android engineering practices and capabilities for the Digital Twin Platform.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional Android development experience using Kotlin and/or Java, with production application delivery experience.
- Deep expertise in the Android SDK, Jetpack libraries, and modern Android architecture patterns.
- Experience designing Android applications from the ground up and owning architecture decisions end to end.
- Ability to work effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced environments with changing requirements and priorities.
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Preferred: experience with enterprise tools, hardware integrations, kiosk applications, or scanning and barcode workflows.
- Preferred: familiarity with Connected Stores, retail hardware platforms, embedded Android environments, or smart cart ecosystems.
- Preferred: experience with Bluetooth, NFC, camera APIs, or other Android hardware peripheral integrations.
- Preferred: background in data-intensive applications, real-time data pipelines, inventory, or logistics systems.
- Preferred: willingness to contribute to backend services and data engineering.
