Responsibilities
- Define and lead the long-term infrastructure vision and roadmap for reliable, scalable, and secure global systems.
- Guide a small team of SRE engineers while remaining closely involved in technical execution.
- Design and maintain large-scale distributed ScyllaDB databases across multiple clusters.
- Design, test, and scale high-throughput monitoring infrastructure handling more than 1M series per second.
- Automate monitoring dashboards, database installations, cluster management, and Kubernetes pod autoscaling.
- Partner daily with backend software engineers to bring code and new concepts into production.
- Build software, infrastructure tooling, and CI/CD pipelines to improve company growth and delivery speed.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of system architecture and software development.
- Proficiency in at least one low-level programming language, ideally Rust or Go.
- Strong knowledge of monitoring and alerting tools.
- Experience with Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms and infrastructure, with strong proficiency in AWS and/or GCP.
- Proven success scaling high-traffic production environments with a focus on reliability and performance.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and influence cross-functional teams.
- Pragmatic, hands-on approach with comfort moving between strategy and execution.
