Responsibilities
- Lead large-scale, cross-cutting reliability initiatives spanning infrastructure automation, observability, and incident management.
- Improve incident detection, response, and postmortem analysis capabilities.
- Define and evolve SLOs, error budgets, and alerting standards across multiple product teams.
- Participate in the on-call rotation and improve the on-call experience by reducing alert noise and ensuring actionable telemetry.
- Mentor and technically coach senior engineers across the company.
- Provide technical guidance to leadership and represent reliability engineering in architecture and platform discussions.
- Partner with software engineering and feature teams to embed reliability practices and improve production readiness before go-live.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in SRE, platform engineering, or infrastructure roles in large-scale, multi-team production environments.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Strong containerization and orchestration experience; Kubernetes is required, including its deployment and scaling ecosystem.
- Experience implementing and operating SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets in production.
- Experience managing on-call rotations and leading incident response in high-stakes environments.
- Strong systems engineering background and fluency in at least one backend language such as Go, Python, or Ruby.
- Ability to lead through influence, set technical direction, drive consensus, and mentor engineers across teams.
- Ability to balance long-term architecture work with rapid iterative improvements.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for alignment in ambiguous environments.
- Experience partnering with feature teams on production readiness, launch reviews, reliability practices, and operational standards.
- Fluency in English.
- Preferred: deep expertise in observability tooling and architecture, including logging, tracing, and metrics.
- Preferred: experience designing and operating high-scale telemetry pipelines and improving instrumentation quality with developers.
- Preferred: experience or interest in regulated environments such as healthcare or fintech.
- Preferred: interest in reliability enablement, golden paths, runbooks, and shared libraries.
