Responsibilities
- Own the Internal Developer Platform vision, roadmap, architecture, and end-to-end execution.
- Build the service catalogue, self-service scaffolding, golden paths, developer portals, and CI/CD integrations.
- Own the developer experience from service creation through production observability.
- Work across platform, infrastructure, IAM, SRE, and product teams to deliver cohesive developer experiences.
- Define platform standards and drive adoption using onboarding, self-service, NPS, deployment, and DORA metrics.
- Integrate authentication and authorization services into the platform’s self-service model.
- Use surveys, usage analytics, office hours, and feedback loops to prioritize improvements.
- Mentor and technically guide Principal and Senior platform engineers without direct people-management responsibility.
- Represent developer-platform strategy in architectural and technical leadership forums.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in platform, infrastructure, or developer-tooling engineering.
- At least 3 years in a senior or staff individual-contributor or technical-lead role.
- End-to-end ownership of an Internal Developer Platform or developer portal, such as Backstage, Port, Cortex, or an equivalent.
- Experience bringing developer platforms into production at enterprise scale and driving sustained adoption.
- Deep hands-on experience with Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, secrets management, and observability.
- Experience with Terraform or Crossplane, production Kubernetes operations, service templates, golden paths, and CI/CD standardization.
- Experience working with Go, React or Next.js, Kafka or Redpanda, PostgreSQL, and Kubernetes on AKS is preferred.
- Experience in a large, distributed engineering organization and the ability to communicate platform strategy to engineering and product leaders.
- Demonstrable hands-on experience designing, building, and shipping production AI applications.
- Ability to explain technical platform work clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
