Responsibilities
- Develop embedded real-time software for mission-critical communications and defense systems using VxWorks, Linux, and Windows environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on operational requirements, system design, and software and hardware interfaces.
- Participate in requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, and formal testing across the software development lifecycle.
- Create software test plans, procedures, and technical documentation.
- Conduct peer reviews, identify and track defects, and implement repairs.
- Apply C++ and other software languages, including high-performance and multithreaded programming techniques.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
- Minimum 1–2 years of professional software development experience, particularly with object-oriented programming.
- Strong C++ skills and knowledge of programming languages, compilers, and application execution.
- Experience with high-performance and multithreaded programming.
- Preferred experience developing and troubleshooting software on embedded targets using an RTOS.
- Preferred knowledge of signal processing, control systems theory, or networking fundamentals.
- Preferred familiarity with IP, UDP, TCP, IPSec, DDS, or SNMP protocols.
- Preferred Department of Defense or intelligence community experience.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.
- Strong communication, teamwork, presentation, writing, curiosity, and ability to learn outside the core discipline.
