Responsibilities
- Drive the technical vision for backend solutions powering Wise’s recipient user experience.
- Build and scale the recipient management product and its underlying distributed services.
- Design, deploy, and maintain clean RESTful APIs.
- Work with relational and non-relational databases, including query optimization and schema design.
- Collaborate with designers, product managers, analysts, and engineers in an autonomous team.
- Prioritize customer needs and use data to address customer pain points.
- Write testable code and participate in code reviews and open feedback.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of Java experience.
- Experience working with large-scale distributed systems.
- Experience with relational and non-relational databases, query optimization, and schema design.
- Experience designing, deploying, and maintaining RESTful APIs.
- A strong product mindset and focus on customer experience.
- Ability to collaborate effectively and bring people together to solve problems.
- Commitment to best coding practices, code reviews, open feedback, and Test Driven Development.
- Experience with Spring Boot and Backend-for-Frontends is preferred.
