Responsibilities
- Deliver end-to-end features across React/TypeScript interfaces and Java/Spring Boot services from design through production support readiness.
- Lead technical design for moderately complex initiatives, including API and service boundaries, data models, integration patterns, and architecture documentation.
- Build and maintain automated unit, integration, contract, and UI tests while driving defect prevention.
- Build and improve CI/CD pipelines with automated testing, scanning, quality gates, deployment, environment promotion, and rollback capabilities.
- Use approved AI-assisted development tools for refactoring, code delivery, test generation, troubleshooting, and documentation while validating outputs through review, testing, and secure coding practices.
- Analyze large and diverse data sets, create visualizations and reports, and use identified patterns to improve coding hygiene and system architecture.
- Apply software development lifecycle, resiliency, security, and agile engineering practices.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 3 years of applied experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST API design, and distributed systems fundamentals.
- Hands-on experience with React, TypeScript, and integrating user interfaces with backend APIs.
- Working experience with AWS and cloud-native fundamentals, including security/IAM concepts and monitoring or operations basics.
- Experience implementing CI/CD with automated tests and quality gates using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across UI and service layers and disciplined use of approved AI coding assistants with verification.
- Ability to critically evaluate, validate, and refine AI-generated outputs for correctness, performance, and security, with understanding of responsible AI use and data sensitivity.
- Preferred experience with Docker, ECS, EKS, Kubernetes, Kafka, SQS, SNS, asynchronous processing, OWASP practices, dependency governance, secrets management, authentication/authorization patterns, SLOs, alerting, incident learning, resiliency patterns, reusable libraries, pipeline templates, mentoring, and technical leadership.
