Responsibilities
- Design and evolve large-scale distributed systems and their broad architecture.
- Lead technical direction within the team and align solutions with adjacent teams, architecture, and business strategy.
- Drive pragmatic innovation while building resilient, secure, flexible, and scalable solutions.
- Write, test, instrument, document, and maintain high-quality software.
- Mentor engineers, participate in pairing and code reviews, and help maintain a high technical bar.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering leaders on end-to-end experiences.
- Ensure observability, performance monitoring, and robust error handling across services.
- Participate in on-call rotations and respond to incidents.
- Focus primarily on backend applications while contributing to mobile and frontend development when needed.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of experience developing digital products in complex environments.
- Deep expertise in distributed systems, microservices architecture, and cloud technologies.
- Proven experience designing and delivering large-scale systems for thousands or millions of users.
- Strong background in object-oriented or functional programming languages and ability to work across multiple languages.
- Experience leading technical initiatives end-to-end within a team and with partner teams.
- Experience mentoring engineers and raising technical standards.
- Practical knowledge of agile software development methodologies and prior CI/CD experience.
- Strong communication skills for identifying risks and explaining trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Advanced English skills.
