Base Salary
$138k - $185k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and develop Java/Spring Boot microservices for real-time data product delivery and platform capabilities.
- Own features through requirements, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
- Build, test, optimize, and operate scalable event-driven microservices and data pipelines while ensuring data integrity and platform reliability.
- Review and debug code, participate in design reviews, remediate technical debt, and maintain engineering standards.
- Support production operations and incident response, including performance, scalability, and cost optimization.
- Drive adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices and consistent secure coding, peer review, and automated testing standards.
- Contribute documentation, runbooks, technical talks, and team knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
- Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Expert-level Java proficiency and deep knowledge of Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Data, Spring Security, Spring Framework, JWT/OAuth2, and AWS.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, event-driven architectures, and design patterns.
- Production experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, Lambda, CloudWatch, IAM, and Kinesis.
- Experience with MongoDB, Snowflake, Databricks, and relational SQL databases.
- Experience with Git or Bitbucket, JIRA, Maven, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and modern software delivery practices.
- Experience with Java/J2EE, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Kinesis, Spark Structured Streaming, and REST APIs.
- Ability to solve complex design and functionality problems independently and communicate technical concepts clearly.
- Preferred: Python data engineering, Databricks, data infrastructure or reference data platforms, platform or product development, open-source contributions, AWS certification, Spring Cloud Netflix OSS components, high-scale real-time data systems, data mesh, multi-region or disaster recovery, and managed service architectures.
