Base Salary
$138k - $185k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and develop Java/Spring Boot microservices for real-time data product delivery and platform capabilities.
- Own features through requirements, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
- Build, optimize, and support scalable event-driven data pipelines and distributed systems.
- Write secure production code, review and debug code, participate in design reviews, and maintain engineering standards.
- Improve performance, scalability, cost efficiency, reliability, and data integrity through comprehensive testing and operational practices.
- Support production operations and incident response while identifying and remediating technical debt.
- Drive adoption of authorized AI-assisted engineering practices, automated validation, and reusable engineering patterns.
- Contribute documentation, runbooks, technical talks, and team knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
- Expert-level Java proficiency and deep experience with Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Data, Spring Security, Spring Framework, and AWS.
- Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, operational stability, distributed systems, and microservices architecture.
- Production experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, Lambda, CloudWatch, IAM, and Kinesis.
- Experience with MongoDB, Snowflake, Databricks, and relational SQL databases.
- Experience with Git or Bitbucket, JIRA, Maven, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
- Proficiency with Java/J2EE, REST APIs, event-driven microservices, Kafka, RabbitMQ, and Spark Structured Streaming.
- Preferred: Python and data engineering experience, Databricks, data infrastructure or reference data platforms, platform or product development, open-source or public technical contributions, AWS certification, Spring Cloud Netflix OSS, high-scale real-time data systems, data mesh, multi-region or disaster recovery, and managed-service architecture patterns.
