Base Salary
$200k - $240k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead major initiatives and own a large area of Shepherd’s product experience
- Drive technical decisions and contribute to product strategy and architectural decisions
- Work across the frontend and backend stack and across disciplines
- Build data collection, automated underwriting, and policy administration capabilities
- Collaborate with product management, the CTO, underwriters, actuaries, and other insurance team members
- Mentor engineers and help build the company’s engineering culture
- Balance emerging technology exploration with pragmatic, high-quality delivery
Requirements
- At least 5 years of working experience, preferably as a full-stack engineer
- Experience with JavaScript or TypeScript in backend and/or frontend development
- Track record of delivering high-impact products
- Experience with insurance, InsurTech, or actuarial work preferred
- Experience leading or significantly contributing to major projects
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Willingness to work across engineering, product management, and design
