Own major full-stack initiatives at Shepherd, building AI-native commercial insurance products across underwriting, data collection, and policy administration. You’ll be the first engineering team member in NYC, partnering closely with underwriters and actuaries while shaping architecture, product strategy, and team culture.

Build Shepherd’s first ML function from the ground up and develop production machine learning systems that advance autonomous commercial insurance underwriting. You’ll own the full lifecycle while combining LLM-based agentic workflows, evaluation, feedback loops, and close collaboration with underwriters.

Build production AI systems that power Shepherd’s underwriting and pricing engine, including LLM features, agents, and retrieval-augmented workflows. You’ll own high-impact AI products end-to-end at the intersection of backend engineering, AI infrastructure, and commercial insurance.

Build Shepherd’s AI-powered commercial insurance platform and help advance autonomous underwriting from submission to pricing. This full-stack role combines hands-on engineering, AI product experimentation, architectural ownership, and close collaboration with insurance and product teams.
