Base Salary
$170k - $220k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and own backend systems that power pricing models and underwriting workflows.
- Translate complex actuarial and underwriting logic into maintainable services.
- Improve the performance and reliability of core rating and decision systems.
- Contribute to architectural decisions for scalable solutions.
- Work with domain experts to define appropriate abstractions.
- Maintain high standards for code quality and long-term maintainability.
Requirements
- 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong backend experience in TypeScript, Python, or similar languages.
- Experience designing APIs and working with data-heavy systems.
- Comfort operating in ambiguous, high-responsibility environments.
- A bias toward ownership and shipping.
- Good judgment in decision-making regarding speed and thoroughness.
