Base Salary
$170k - $220k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and own backend systems for pricing models, underwriting workflows, and policy lifecycle infrastructure
- Translate complex actuarial and underwriting logic into maintainable production-grade services
- Improve the performance and reliability of core rating and decision systems
- Contribute to architectural decisions that establish the foundation for future scale
- Work directly with domain experts to define effective abstractions and solutions
- Maintain a high standard for code quality, simplicity, and long-term maintainability
Requirements
- At least four years of professional software engineering experience
- Strong backend experience with TypeScript, Python, or similar technologies
- Experience designing APIs and working with data-heavy systems
- Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, high-responsibility environments
- Strong ownership, shipping orientation, and judgment about when to move quickly or carefully
