Base Salary
$157k - $224k/yr
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a research team to develop solutions to complex software and networking problems.
- Own significant features or components and deliver them with minimal supervision.
- Lead technical discussions, guide architectural decisions, and mentor junior engineers.
- Develop, test, and deploy software for research, production, and real-time communications systems.
- Create operational prototypes for experimentation and performance analysis.
- Analyze and improve designs and processes to optimize performance.
- Build customer-facing operational systems with high reliability and usability standards.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of relevant software engineering experience.
- Proficiency in Python, C, C++, or similar interpreted or low-level programming languages.
- Experience designing and implementing open architectures and rapid prototypes.
- Strong knowledge of software testing, evaluation practices, and development lifecycles.
- Significant hands-on experience with GNU/Linux toolchains and open-source software.
- Deep understanding of networking principles, including the five-layer OSI networking stack.
- Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent expertise gained through prior roles.
- Ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required by the U.S. Government.
- Preferred qualifications include an active Top Secret clearance, advanced Python or MATLAB experience, production software experience, large-scale codebase experience, quantitative analysis, real-time operating concepts, software architecture and scalability knowledge, and demonstrated technical leadership.
