Responsibilities
- Own the architecture and evolution of distributed software platforms supporting AI-enabled engineering workflows.
- Define reusable service boundaries, APIs, data flows, execution models, asynchronous processing patterns, and platform standards.
- Design and productionize generative AI, LLM, intelligent-agent, retrieval, tool-automation, and human-approval capabilities.
- Build end-to-end products spanning web applications, backend services, APIs, real-time interactions, engineering integrations, and data systems.
- Automate and improve development, testing, deployment, and production environments across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid infrastructure.
- Establish standards for containerization, orchestration, infrastructure as code, release automation, networking, storage, identity, authorization, secrets, workload isolation, auditability, monitoring, and incident response.
- Lead secure, resilient, observable, fault-tolerant systems with recovery procedures and operational support.
- Integrate AI capabilities with EDA tools and computational environments for design, simulation, testbench configuration, job execution, data collection, analysis, verification, and report generation.
- Direct data architecture and integration patterns across applications, databases, engineering tools, AI services, enterprise systems, and long-running computational workloads.
- Serve as a technical authority through architectural reviews, platform decisions, risk reduction, standards development, mentoring, and cross-functional influence.
- Investigate emerging software, cloud, AI platform, infrastructure, and developer-platform technologies and document architectures, decisions, operations, and roadmaps.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field is required; a relevant master’s degree is preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive hands-on software engineering experience, including technical leadership of complex production-scale systems and broad impact across multiple teams or product areas.
- Deep proficiency in one or more of Python, Java, C++, JavaScript, or TypeScript, along with software architecture, debugging, automated testing, performance optimization, and maintainable code design.
- Expertise designing, building, deploying, and operating distributed platforms across user-facing applications, APIs, backend services, data systems, workflow systems, and infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of distributed systems, API design, data modeling, asynchronous processing, messaging, system integration, fault tolerance, security, reliability, and production operations.
- Experience operating production workloads on at least one major cloud platform, including networking, compute, storage, identity, security, and managed services.
- Experience with containerized applications, Kubernetes or comparable orchestration, infrastructure as code, configuration management, monitoring, and incident response.
- Experience designing secure multi-user systems with identity and access management, authorization, secrets management, workload isolation, audit logs, and operational controls.
- Experience integrating AI/ML services, LLM APIs, intelligent automation, or other nondeterministic components into production software; foundation-model training is not required.
- Experience setting technical direction and leading cross-functional teams through architecture, implementation, deployment, migration, and continuous improvement.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and a record of documenting technical designs, decisions, risks, tradeoffs, and roadmaps.
- Track record of independent, high-impact contributions improving product capabilities, engineering velocity, reliability, platform reuse, or organizational effectiveness.
