Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, maintain, and support large-scale iOS features using Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit, and modern Apple frameworks.
- Deliver commerce capabilities covering product discovery, catalog, offers, promotions, cart, checkout, payments, loyalty, rewards, order status, and fulfillment.
- Own technical delivery from solution design and estimation through implementation, release readiness, production validation, and operational support.
- Shape mobile architecture using modular design, protocol-driven components, reusable frameworks, dependency management, and separation of concerns.
- Integrate enterprise services through RESTful and GraphQL APIs, authentication, caching, error handling, and offline-aware patterns.
- Optimize startup time, rendering, memory, battery, network usage, concurrency, and application responsiveness.
- Apply secure coding, Keychain storage, token handling, privacy controls, fraud-prevention integration, and payment security practices.
- Improve quality through unit, integration, snapshot, and UI automation testing, code reviews, static analysis, and quality gates.
- Strengthen observability through analytics, logging, crash reporting, tracing, performance monitoring, dashboards, and production alerts.
- Collaborate with Android and backend engineers on API contracts, domain models, edge cases, and consistent customer behavior.
- Support CI/CD, feature flags, phased rollouts, App Store readiness, production monitoring, incident response, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Mentor engineers, facilitate technical discussions, document decisions, and raise engineering standards across the commerce pod.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of professional iOS development experience with significant ownership of complex production applications.
- Advanced proficiency in Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit, Xcode, iOS SDK, structured concurrency, and modern Apple development practices.
- Experience delivering reliable, performant, operationally ready mobile capabilities for a large customer base.
- Strong knowledge of MVVM, VIPER, Clean Architecture, coordinator patterns, protocol-oriented design, and dependency injection.
- Hands-on experience integrating RESTful or GraphQL services, authentication flows, JSON data models, caching, pagination, retries, and failure handling.
- Strong understanding of memory management, application lifecycle, multithreading, networking, accessibility, localization, and responsive UI implementation.
- Experience with XCTest, XCUITest, automated regression testing, mocking, test doubles, and maintainable test design.
- Experience with Git-based development, pull-request reviews, branching strategies, CI/CD pipelines, and App Store release processes.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex production issues using logs, metrics, crash reports, traces, and customer-impact data.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills in Agile/Scrum teams, including estimation, refinement, sprint planning, demonstrations, and retrospectives.
- Preferred experience includes commerce, marketplace, payment, loyalty, rewards, subscription, retail, or telecom applications.
- Preferred experience includes applications serving millions of customers and high-volume transactional journeys.
- Preferred knowledge includes payment tokenization, PCI-DSS considerations, mobile fraud controls, secure storage, and privacy-by-design practices.
- Preferred experience includes modular iOS codebases, Swift Package Manager, reusable design systems, feature flags, and progressive delivery.
- Preferred familiarity includes Firebase, Datadog, New Relic, Splunk, event-driven architectures, analytics event schemas, experimentation, A/B testing, and real-time customer events.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Previous T-Mobile, telecom, or high-transaction-volume consumer application experience is preferred.
