Responsibilities
- Develop, test, debug, and maintain Java software using object-oriented design principles.
- Build enhancements for investment research and asset management platforms.
- Contribute to modernization initiatives, REST API development, microservices, cloud-ready applications, and event-driven architectures.
- Support application automation and improvements to platform performance, user efficiency, and business outcomes.
- Write and troubleshoot SQL queries and maintain reliable, high-quality code.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, product owners, quality teams, and business stakeholders.
- Participate in an Agile software development environment and continuously learn new technologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in software development through internships, co-ops, apprenticeships, academic projects, or professional work.
- Foundational proficiency in Java and object-oriented programming, with knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software design fundamentals.
- Experience writing, testing, debugging, and maintaining code.
- Familiarity with relational databases and SQL queries.
- Understanding of RESTful APIs, web services, and modern application development concepts.
- Experience using Git or similar version-control tools in a collaborative environment.
- Preferred experience with Spring Framework or Spring Boot, microservices, event-driven architectures, REST APIs, JUnit, or Mockito.
- Preferred exposure to AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Docker, MongoDB, Angular, Python-based development, analytics, or dashboard visualization tools.
- Ability to communicate effectively, troubleshoot problems, collaborate across technical and business teams, and work in an Agile environment.
