Base Salary
$197k - $295k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and develop CPU firmware for boot, debug, idle, and active power management.
- Evaluate CPU software and hardware design trade-offs and coordinate debugging of critical issues related to high-performance CPU microarchitecture.
- Define short- and long-term CPU software architecture roadmaps aligned with Arm architecture ISA evolution.
- Represent CPU software teams in engagements with Arm, RISC-V architects, and third-party software partners.
- Develop software for heterogeneous embedded SoC platforms containing ARM or RISC-V CPUs and specialized hardware accelerators.
- Develop low-level drivers and firmware and contribute across kernel and user-space components.
- Act as a hands-on technical lead who influences product roadmaps and steers team success.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field and 8+ years of software engineering or related experience; alternatively, a master's degree with 7+ years or a PhD with 6+ years.
- At least 4 years of experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python.
- Preferred experience includes 15+ years in embedded software for multicore CPUs and strong C/C++ skills.
- Deep computer architecture expertise in areas such as memory consistency, coherency, memory management, virtualization, security or sandboxing, and superscalar architectures.
- Experience with ARM or RISC-V architectures, embedded platforms, low-level drivers, firmware, kernels, and user-space components.
- Experience using JTAG or ICE debuggers, developing real-time software, and developing drivers on an RTOS.
- Understanding of SoC hardware blocks including clocks, PLLs, GPIO, interrupt controllers, peripherals, and interfaces such as SPI, I2C, PCIe, CAN, Ethernet, USB, and UFS.
- Ability to work with engineers, partners, and customers across geographies and experience working with senior management.
- Experience with business process streamlining and transformation involving digitized services.
