Responsibilities
- Define, track, and enforce SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets across development teams and critical business services.
- Analyze workflows to reduce toil, automate operations, and remove systemic inefficiencies.
- Provide hands-on support for reliability topics, including SLO/SLI setup and implementation.
- Support root-cause analyses and Swiss Cheese post-mortems, and track actions that prevent recurring incidents.
- Analyze incident, problem, and change data to identify systemic causes and advocate structural improvements.
- Guide the FMGT tribe and application teams on SRE practices and implementations.
- Mentor and coach other SREs and influence engineering practices without direct authority.
- Contribute to the E&R organization and participate in global SRE guilds.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience in software engineering, SRE, or technical product management, with a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle.
- Strong expertise in SLOs, SLIs, error budget policies, and continuous improvement frameworks.
- Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and tracing concepts and experience reviewing system health metrics.
- Experience with monitoring and alerting tools such as Prometheus, ELK, and Grafana; OpenTelemetry knowledge is a bonus.
- Knowledge of CI/CD standards, preferably Azure DevOps, and experience with monolithic application landscapes.
- Knowledge of Site Reliability Engineering concepts, availability reporting, containers, cloud tooling, and IT security principles.
- Strong communication, negotiation, problem-solving, analytical, mentoring, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Experience implementing ITIL, Agile, or DevOps practices at scale is preferred.
- Certification in cloud architecture or Agile project management is preferred.
- Previous experience as a Tech Lead or Engineering Manager is preferred.
