Base Salary
$200k - $288k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, deploy, and operate backend software and distributed systems for Snowflake Warehouses.
- Independently own medium-sized engineering projects from design through delivery.
- Contribute to larger initiatives across the warehouse organization.
- Enhance capabilities related to warehouse features, billing, and usability.
- Improve the reliability, scalability, performance, and operational health of warehouse systems.
- Engage in the full software lifecycle, including design, implementation, testing, and operations.
- Collaborate with engineers and product managers to deliver effective solutions.
- Make informed tradeoffs between speed, quality, and maintainability.
- Utilize strong debugging skills to resolve complex production issues.
- Conduct design and code reviews to maintain high standards.
Requirements
- BS in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 4 to 7 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong programming and debugging skills in modern programming languages.
- Experience with backend or distributed systems in production.
- Ability to execute medium-sized projects independently.
- Strong technical partnership skills for cross-team projects.
- Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle and best practices.
- Experience with on-call production support or incident response.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative working style.
- Customer-oriented mindset with good judgment on reliability and usability.
