Base Salary
$215k - $260k/yr
Responsibilities
- Drive the technical direction and long-term architecture of CLEAR’s cloud platform across AWS, Kubernetes, networking, and infrastructure as code.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives from RFC and design through rollout and adoption, including staging environments and infrastructure for AI workloads.
- Define infrastructure engineering standards for infrastructure as code, safe rollouts and rollbacks, observability, networking, and security baselines.
- Act as a product owner for the platform by gathering engineering feedback, identifying systemic pain points, and building self-service capabilities.
- Build production software systems, services, APIs, and internal developer tools.
- Run and evolve production EKS clusters, including networking, ingress, service mesh, and cluster lifecycle management.
- Design for failure, support safe rollouts, lead incident response, and instrument systems for observability.
- Mentor engineers, lead design and incident reviews, drive cross-team consensus, and turn lessons learned into system improvements.
Requirements
- Deep AWS expertise, including VPC design, routing, Security Groups, load balancing, Route53, IAM, and multi-account, multi-environment platforms.
- Experience designing and building production software systems in Python, Java, or a similar modern language, with strong system design, testing, and maintainable-code fundamentals.
- Experience running and evolving production Kubernetes or EKS clusters, including cluster networking, ingress, service mesh, and cluster lifecycle management.
- Experience building reusable, well-tested Pulumi modules or equivalent Terraform or CloudFormation modules.
- Experience with reliability engineering, observability, safe rollouts, and incident response.
- Ability to drive technical direction across teams through RFCs and design reviews, communicate trade-offs, and mentor engineers.
- Experience with edge and network security tooling such as Cloudflare or Palo Alto is a plus.
