Responsibilities
- Architect Salesforce integration and data strategies across connected production distributed systems.
- Define data ownership, entity shapes, and sources of truth using relational data modeling and ERDs.
- Design high-scale integrations with retries, idempotency, reconciliation, dead-lettering, backfills, and observability.
- Replace brittle no-code integrations such as Zapier with robust code-based solutions.
- Develop sophisticated Salesforce integrations using code rather than administrative configuration.
- Establish CI/CD and configuration-as-code practices for Salesforce and integration management.
- Partner with engineering, IT, Product, and business stakeholders on system boundaries, standards, and change management.
- Serve as a technical authority on modern integration technologies and enterprise software engineering practices.
Requirements
- Hands-on Salesforce platform experience in a complex custom-object environment.
- Production TypeScript experience.
- Relational database experience with PostgreSQL or an equivalent system.
- Experience building integrations between Salesforce and external systems.
- Practical distributed-systems experience with idempotency, retries, dead-lettering, backfills, reconciliation, and eventual consistency.
- Experience with REST, SOAP, and webhooks.
- Strong relational data modeling and ERD design skills.
- Experience building integration observability using metrics, alerts, dashboards, and runbooks.
- Experience managing Salesforce metadata in source control with CI/CD, scratch orgs, sandboxes, and deployment automation.
- Ability to operate credibly at staff or lead level within a software engineering organization.
- Preferred experience includes Salesforce as an operational or domain platform, Zendesk, SAP, Stripe, regulated or workflow-heavy industries, NestJS, event-driven architecture, message queues, and replacing Zapier workflows.
