Responsibilities
- Develop maintainable software features and components under senior-engineer direction.
- Write unit-tested code and participate in code reviews, debugging, issue triage, and deployment.
- Contribute to AI-native features, including prompt design assistance, AI/API integration, basic evaluation, and ServiceNow AI agents and skills.
- Develop ServiceNow workflows, business rules, automations, forms, dashboards, and platform customizations.
- Learn and implement ServiceNow APIs, web services, integration patterns, data models, and query optimization.
- Support assigned ServiceNow features, investigate reported issues, document solutions, and help identify recurring problems.
- Participate in design reviews, sprint planning, pair programming, knowledge sharing, and team learning.
- Apply secure coding, customer-data handling, AI safety, automated testing, and CI/CD practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 4+ years of professional software development experience.
- Proficiency in at least one of Python, Java, or JavaScript, with willingness to learn additional languages.
- Understanding of software engineering fundamentals including version control, testing, and debugging.
- Basic knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs and modern web services.
- Understanding of AI/ML concepts; hands-on experience with LLMs or AI APIs is a plus.
- Prior ServiceNow experience is required, and ServiceNow certification is highly desirable.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, learning, and independent-working skills.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies is a plus.
