Responsibilities
- Design, develop, integrate, and validate advanced algorithmic capabilities including tracking, sensor and effector management, battlespace optimization, and threat forecasting.
- Develop and implement modeling and simulation frameworks to evaluate algorithmic performance and system capabilities across scenarios.
- Lead requirements decomposition across cross-functional teams and define measurable system success criteria.
- Scope the ideal system laydown, scrutinize system performance, and ensure deployed systems meet customer requirements.
- Develop test plans, acceptance criteria, and analysis tools using simulation and collected field data.
- Use data-driven analysis to verify customer requirements and create artifacts that trace performance as systems evolve.
- Own systems end to end and resolve issues across system boundaries to achieve the desired outcome.
- Integrate emerging capabilities into new products and system configurations.
Requirements
- 8+ years of hardware and software systems engineering experience.
- A degree in Engineering, Physics, Robotics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Demonstrated use of model-based systems engineering across a program lifecycle.
- Experience with JAMA, Cameo, MATLAB, Simulink, or AFSIM.
- Proficiency with Python for data parsing, modeling and simulation, data analysis, and visualization.
- Experience applying engineering standards to engineering processes or requirements.
- Ability to communicate complex technical findings to developers, system leads, and customers.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
- Familiarity with Linux OS and real-time or safety-critical software processes and constraints is preferred.
- Working knowledge of C, C++, or Rust is preferred.
- Understanding of the full software development lifecycle is preferred.
- Prior involvement in field exercises, test events, or experimentation campaigns is preferred.
- Experience obtaining data from software platforms using command-line tools is preferred.
- Previous defense, aerospace, or naval experience is preferred.
- Experience with robotics, autonomous systems, radar, optics, computer vision, wireless communication, software-defined radios, or networking is preferred.
- Proficiency with Python and/or MATLAB for data parsing and visualization is preferred.
