Responsibilities
- Own performance engineering by defining, measuring, breaking, and fixing system behavior under real-world conditions.
- Participate in designing and developing skeleton and stub components for integration testing.
- Develop automation utilities and scripts to automate routine tasks.
- Gather and validate non-functional requirements from customers and stakeholders.
- Analyze performance test runs, report defects, share findings, and prepare and review performance test reports.
- Participate in project stakeholder status meetings as needed and mentor team members on performance testing activities.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience as a Performance Tester or Performance Engineer on Java-based applications deployed on-premises or in the cloud, with JMeter expertise.
- Hands-on experience with JMeter, Gatling, or k6, plus application performance monitoring, log analysis, and profiling tools.
- Understanding of performance metrics required to certify Java applications and of non-functional requirements.
- Experience with Linux performance commands and shell scripting.
- Experience with Telegraph, Influx, and Grafana for application monitoring.
- Ability to analyze thread dumps, garbage collection logs, and heap dumps.
- Good-to-have experience with Java, data structures, SQL, Tomcat, Netty, REST APIs, Azure or another cloud provider, Hazelcast, Redis, Kafka, microservices, and Kubernetes administration.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, prioritization, independent working, multitasking, adaptability, and self-motivation skills.
- Ecommerce and retail domain understanding is a nice-to-have qualification.
