Base Salary
$405k - $485k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define and drive multi-year technical strategy across API Core, API Capabilities, API Knowledge, API Distributability, and API Agents.
- Personally lead the highest-complexity, highest-impact engineering initiatives spanning multiple teams.
- Serve as the primary technical decision-maker for major organization-wide architectural decisions.
- Partner with Research, Inference, Platform, Infrastructure, and Safeguards on reliable, secure, and responsible API delivery at scale.
- Mentor and develop Staff-level engineers across the organization.
- Drive alignment across Product, GTM, Safety, and other stakeholders while identifying and addressing systemic technical risks.
Requirements
- 12+ years of engineering experience with a track record operating at Staff or Senior Staff level.
- Demonstrated experience shaping technical strategy for large-scale API or distributed systems platforms.
- Deep expertise in distributed systems and API architecture, including design documentation, architectural decision-making, and coding in critical paths.
- Ability to lead high-leverage technical outcomes through influence without formal authority.
- Strong cross-organizational collaboration skills with technical, research, infrastructure, business, and safety stakeholders.
- Strong product instincts and expertise in API design.
- Clear communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- At least a Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
