Responsibilities
- Own platform operations, availability, monitoring, performance, capacity checks, readiness validation, and environment health for critical payment platforms.
- Manage incident triage and resolution, serve as incident commander for medium- to high-severity incidents, coordinate communications, and drive root cause analysis and follow-up actions.
- Support change and release processes by reviewing test cases, validating lower-environment testing, creating change plans, and supporting production deployments and validation.
- Troubleshoot application behavior, dependencies, compute, network, storage, database, and performance issues with engineering and infrastructure teams.
- Improve observability through monitoring, alerting, dashboards, anomaly detection, and synthetic monitoring.
- Drive automation and process improvements that reduce operational toil, errors, and recurring issues, including use of AI-driven operational tools.
- Identify operational, platform, dependency, infrastructure, and test-coverage risks and support mitigation tracking.
- Mentor junior and mid-level team members and contribute to runbooks, documentation, knowledge sharing, and operational standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in production support, Site Reliability Engineering, or BizOps roles.
- Experience managing incidents and supporting large-scale distributed systems.
- Knowledge of monitoring and alerting tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, and BlazeMeter.
- Knowledge of automation and DevOps practices, with strong system troubleshooting and operational ownership skills.
- Experience working in cross-functional, high-pressure environments and ability to work with little or no supervision.
- Experience with one or more of C, C++, Java, Python, Go, Perl, or Ruby is preferred.
- Payments ecosystem experience is preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication, collaboration, relationship-building, stakeholder-management, organizational, multitasking, and prioritization skills.
