Responsibilities
- Own and evolve Spotify’s perimeter infrastructure for client-backend traffic management.
- Design, build, and maintain systems for cloud networking, provisioning, and monitoring.
- Contribute to distributed systems by writing and improving production-grade code.
- Enhance traffic protection capabilities, including DDoS mitigation.
- Collaborate with engineers to design reliable and scalable services.
- Run disaster recovery exercises and prepare for real-world failure scenarios.
- Troubleshoot complex system behaviors and improve performance.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to support service operational health.
Requirements
- Experience with Kubernetes and understanding of networking fundamentals.
- Comfortable operating and debugging distributed systems in production.
- Strong coding skills in at least one programming language, with openness to learn others.
- Experience with load balancing, monitoring, or configuration management systems.
- Knowledge of software engineering practices like testing and continuous integration.
- Curiosity about system behavior and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a distributed team and collaborate across locations.
- Methodical approach to solving infrastructure challenges.
