Base Salary

$102k - $219k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain code for routing features and services using established coding patterns and secure design principles.
  • Evaluate technical design options, document tradeoffs, validate hypotheses, and collaborate with engineers and stakeholders.
  • Create and execute tests, including security tests, regression coverage, and test automation supported by AI tools.
  • Support secure deployment, flighting, rollback planning, dependency monitoring, and deployment infrastructure for production-like environments.
  • Monitor live-site services, participate in rotational on-call operations, respond to incidents within SLA timeframes, and implement mitigations for simple issues.
  • Integrate logging, instrumentation, telemetry, monitoring, and security detection capabilities into product features.
  • Contribute to capacity planning, scalability, resiliency, disaster recovery, performance, accessibility, privacy, and compliance efforts.
  • Work with product managers, technical leads, privacy and security experts, and partner teams to understand user requirements and deliver features.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 2+ years of technical engineering experience coding in C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
  • Preferred: master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 3+ years of technical engineering experience, or a bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience, or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred: experience with networking, security, proxy-related services, and large-scale distributed systems.

Benefits

  • The position includes a rotational on-call responsibility and requires passing the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire or transfer and every two years thereafter.
  • The typical U.S. base pay range is USD $102,100-$202,200 per year; a different range applies to specified San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area locations.
  • Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
