Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate scalable, resilient, and secure Golang microservices and data processing systems.
- Model long-running tax reporting logic as durable, stateful Temporal workflows.
- Implement and optimize Redpanda-based pipelines for financial events while maintaining data quality, timeliness, and integrity.
- Translate regulatory requirements into robust, maintainable, and verifiable software with tax analysts, legal experts, and product managers.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship in distributed systems, gRPC API design, code quality, and advanced testing.
- Build auditability, traceability, and data lineage into systems used by auditors and regulators.
- Own service lifecycles, including deployment with Jenkins and Terraform, monitoring, and incident response.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience shipping and operating complex, large-scale production systems.
- Deep hands-on expertise in Golang, including goroutines, channels, memory management, and the standard library.
- Demonstrable experience designing and building distributed systems, microservices, and API designs such as gRPC.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Experience with Temporal or similar durable execution systems such as Cadence or AWS Step Functions is preferred.
- Experience with Redpanda or Apache Kafka and the Kafka protocol is preferred.
- Production experience with gRPC and Protocol Buffers is preferred.
- Proficiency with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins is preferred.
- Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, and distributed tracing systems is preferred.
- Prior FinTech, RegTech, or other regulated-industry experience with financial data or compliance systems is preferred.
