Responsibilities
- Design, code, test, debug, and enhance complex software as part of the Level 3 escalation engineering team.
- Investigate customer product issues, provide workarounds, perform root-cause analysis, and resolve defects.
- Develop automation and tools that reduce manual support work and improve issue resolution efficiency.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Customer Experience Specialists.
- Monitor production applications and proactively resolve customer-facing issues.
- Partner with Support, Product, and Engineering to address recurring customer pain points.
- Plan and execute automated tests and contribute to testing practices.
- Provide technical leadership through code reviews, knowledge-sharing, and participation in an on-call rotation.
Requirements
- 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Extensive experience developing with Python and unit testing with PyTest.
- Solid PHP experience and some JavaScript experience, preferably with Vue.js and related testing frameworks.
- Experience with SQL databases, Git, Docker, SQLAlchemy, cloud platforms, and AWS preferably.
- Experience with ticketing and diagnostic tools such as Zendesk and Jira, application logs, monitoring, and production SQL investigation.
- Ability to navigate unfamiliar code, work autonomously on ambiguous problems, and investigate complex Level 3 tickets.
- Strong collaboration, communication, customer focus, and problem-solving skills.
- Background in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent learning through professional training or technical programs.
- Knowledge of AI-assisted development practices and willingness to keep pace with technology and software development trends.
