Responsibilities
- Lead engineering teams in delivering end-to-end features for the routing cost engine.
- Design, build, and optimize machine learning and data pipelines.
- Build automated quality-assurance and data-exploration tools.
- Apply geospatial algorithms for pipeline optimization, automated tuning, and outlier detection.
- Partner with data scientists to improve models for movement and traffic patterns.
- Mentor colleagues and participate in code and design reviews.
- Own the technical vision and guide strategy and execution for the routing cost engine.
- Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation, including possible after-hours and weekend response.
Requirements
- 8–10+ years of backend and machine learning engineering experience.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Python, distributed processing pipelines, and very large datasets.
- Experience with Hadoop, Spark, Airflow, or Dask, including statistical analysis, data quality control, and storage optimization.
- Extensive experience with cloud and infrastructure services and deploying and managing cloud infrastructure.
- Experience driving engineering quality, robust architecture, technical strategy, and continuous improvement.
- Experience mentoring and leading engineering teams and supporting career development.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to lead organization-wide technical discussions.
- Ability to collaborate with security, DevOps, data, compliance, and product teams.
- Strong ownership, execution, customer focus, and data-informed decision-making skills.
