Responsibilities
- Develop algorithms and software for oncology medical imaging, including image registration, segmentation, motion tracking, and image-based informatics.
- Design, build, and evaluate research prototypes for translation into Elekta products and clinical workflows.
- Apply machine learning, deep learning, statistical methods, numerical optimization, and matrix and tensor algebra to 2D, 3D, and 4D imaging problems.
- Develop high-performance GPU-based software using Python, C++, CUDA, or other relevant technologies.
- Collaborate with scientists, engineers, product stakeholders, research institutions, healthcare organizations, and technology partners.
- Contribute to testing, validation, technical documentation, white papers, presentations, publications, intellectual property, and patent activities.
- Stay current with scientific and technology developments and share expertise across Elekta.
Requirements
- Advanced knowledge of medical imaging, machine learning, and/or computer vision, ideally in healthcare, oncology, or another regulated environment.
- Strong programming skills in Python and C++, including development experience with Visual Studio.
- Proficiency with ITK, VTK, NumPy, Scikit-Learn, Matplotlib, PyTorch, and/or TensorFlow.
- Experience developing GPU-based image processing algorithms and applications using CUDA.
- Practical knowledge of rigid and deformable image registration, image segmentation, motion tracking, statistical modelling, numerical optimization, and matrix and tensor algebra.
- Ability to solve complex technical problems independently, collaborate in multidisciplinary teams, and communicate scientific concepts clearly.
- Experience developing imaging applications.
- Either a PhD in Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Medical Physics, or a related discipline plus at least five years of relevant software development and/or research experience, or a related master’s degree plus at least ten years of relevant experience.
- Experience with C#, .NET, OpenMP, OpenCL, DICOM, patent authorship, or other intellectual property activities may be beneficial.
