Responsibilities

  • Lead architecture and delivery of scalable software capabilities for manufacturing teams across multiple plants.
  • Translate business and operational needs into technical requirements, service boundaries, interface contracts, and delivery plans.
  • Design, build, test, deploy, and operate production services across Python, FastAPI, React, TypeScript, Java, and Spring Boot.
  • Develop event-driven workflows and integrations with manufacturing, workforce, equipment, analytics, and enterprise systems.
  • Design data models and platform solutions using relational, graph-based, caching, object-storage, and metrics technologies.
  • Build secure applications with authentication, authorization, access controls, secrets management, and secure service-to-service communication.
  • Improve reliability through observability, health monitoring, performance engineering, automated testing, incident learning, and operational readiness.
  • Lead continuous integration and delivery, infrastructure automation, containerized deployments, and GitOps-based environment promotion.
  • Evolve shared platform capabilities for reuse across multiple manufacturing products and teams.
  • Contribute to plant-edge monitoring and computer-vision solutions connecting cameras, machine-learning inference, cloud services, alerts, and operator workflows.
  • Fine-tune and productionize machine-learning models and help establish evaluation, deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle practices.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and develop secure, maintainable prototypes and production solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, communicate architectural decisions, and align stakeholders across teams.
  • Participate in technical planning, design reviews, code reviews, troubleshooting, and production-readiness activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including substantial production-systems experience.
  • In-depth experience with distributed applications, microservices, APIs, and event-driven systems.
  • Strong professional experience with Python, FastAPI, React, TypeScript, and modern application development.
  • Familiarity with Java and Spring Boot in distributed enterprise platforms.
  • Experience with data modeling and databases such as PostgreSQL, including relational and graph-based technologies.
  • Experience with Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, infrastructure automation, and comparable DevOps practices.
  • Experience building secure applications with identity, authentication, authorization, role-based access, secrets, and secure service-to-service communication.
  • Experience with automated testing, continuous integration and delivery, source control, and production release practices.
  • Experience with observability, including logging, metrics, tracing, health checks, alerting, and operational dashboards.
  • Experience integrating enterprise or industrial systems through APIs, messaging, or event streaming.
  • Ability to analyze complex systems, balance competing requirements, make long-term platform decisions, and communicate clearly with technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel periodically and work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
  • Preferred experience includes platform architecture across multiple products or sites, manufacturing or industrial software, plant-edge computing, cameras, telemetry, edge-to-cloud systems, Azure services, Redis, Helm, GitOps, Argo CD, AI-assisted development, LLM-enabled tools, retrieval-augmented generation, agentic systems, machine-learning model productionization, computer vision, data federation, and technical mentorship.
