Base Salary

$100k - $150k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Develop flight and payload software for embedded spacecraft systems running VxWorks and Linux.
  • Debug and integrate software with hardware subsystems across communication interfaces and protocols.
  • Implement subsystem behaviors, command sequences, scheduling logic, and autonomous spacecraft behaviors.
  • Collaborate with avionics, payload, propulsion, GNC, mission operations, and ground software teams.
  • Support hardware-in-the-loop testing, system integration, and functional verification.
  • Document software behaviors, interfaces, and workflows for cross-functional engineering teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience with C++ or another object-oriented programming language.
  • Proficiency in Python for scripting, testing, and automation.
  • Strong Linux development experience, including shell scripting, networking/IP, serial/UART interactions, and system-level debugging.
  • Experience with Git and Git-based workflows such as GitLab.
  • Ability to understand and contribute to a large, previously developed codebase.
  • Preferred qualifications include 5+ years of C++ experience, flight or spacecraft software development, embedded systems, Docker or other containerization tools, spacecraft interfaces, Rocket Lab MAX FSW, and VxWorks or other RTOS experience.
