Responsibilities
- Design and implement REST and GraphQL endpoints.
- Design and implement highly available, latency-sensitive, fault-tolerant microservices.
- Build core infrastructure for processing large volumes of video streaming data.
- Improve the performance, reliability, and scalability of backend services.
- Develop solutions to large-scale platform problems and own small-to-medium platform features end-to-end.
- Own one or more platform services or product features as part of the platform team.
- Contribute to core platform and security engineering while helping bootstrap the India Technology Centre.
Requirements
- BS in Computer Science or an equivalent field with a programming background.
- At least 7+ years of experience building scalable and available web services.
- Strong experience with at least one object-oriented language such as Python, C++, or Golang.
- Expertise in REST and GraphQL APIs, backend design principles, relational databases such as MySQL and Postgres, streaming pipelines, pub-sub systems, and indexing systems.
- Ability to write clean and maintainable code and design complex systems involving multiple communicating services.
- Experience managing service reliability and performing cloud operations with AWS or Google Cloud.
- Experience with Redis, Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, or similar technologies is highly preferred.
- Experience building SaaS product offerings is a significant advantage.
