Responsibilities
- Design and deliver scalable, resilient, and secure software solutions across the eCommerce payments platform.
- Build and evolve Java-based microservices for merchant onboarding, payment processing, and settlement capabilities.
- Contribute across backend services, APIs, cloud infrastructure, and customer experiences.
- Drive architectural decisions and influence engineering direction across squads.
- Champion automated testing, CI/CD, observability, monitoring, and DevSecOps practices.
- Partner with product, architecture, and business stakeholders to deliver customer outcomes.
- Mentor engineers, uplift technical capability, and support production systems and operational improvements.
Requirements
- Deep software engineering expertise and experience designing and delivering complex distributed systems at scale.
- Strong hands-on engineering capability and experience building microservices in cloud-native environments.
- Strong architectural and systems design skills.
- Experience leading complex technical initiatives while remaining hands-on.
- A track record of mentoring engineers and influencing technical decision-making.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on engineering delivery.
- Experience with Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, microservices, event-driven systems, domain-driven design, AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform and/or CloudFormation.
- Interest in emerging technologies, AI-powered development or operational tooling, and applying AI to engineering and security challenges.
- React, TypeScript, Node.js, and Next.js experience is highly regarded.
