Responsibilities
- Co-create technology strategy and roadmaps aligned with business objectives.
- Define architectural direction across platforms, services, and systems.
- Guide the modernisation and evolution of enterprise systems and shared platforms.
- Provide technical leadership across multiple squads and domains.
- Identify opportunities for reuse, simplification, and standardisation.
- Resolve complex cross-domain engineering challenges and influence engineering roadmaps and investment decisions.
- Champion engineering standards, patterns, observability, automation, reliability, and quality improvements.
- Lead architecture reviews and governance practices while enabling teams to work independently with platform consistency.
- Mentor Staff Engineers and senior engineers through coaching and knowledge sharing.
- Partner with product, architecture, business, and senior engineering leaders as a trusted technical advisor.
Requirements
- Significant experience leading large-scale platforms and distributed systems.
- Proven success driving technical strategy across multiple teams.
- Deep expertise in cloud-native architecture and modern engineering practices.
- Ability to balance immediate delivery with long-term platform evolution.
- Ability to influence through technical credibility rather than authority.
- Experience building shared platforms, reusable services, or enterprise capabilities.
- Strong engineering fundamentals and depth in modern engineering.
- Experience with Java and Spring Boot, distributed systems, API-driven architectures, workflow and orchestration platforms such as Temporal, AWS including Lambda, Python, agentic AI patterns and frameworks, agent SDKs and orchestration tools such as LangGraph, and modern DevOps and automation practices.
