Responsibilities
- Lead the technical design and delivery of backend and integration services.
- Design, build, and operate Java microservices and REST APIs on AWS and Amazon EKS.
- Develop event-driven solutions integrating Customer Lifecycle Management capabilities with bank channels.
- Apply full-cycle engineering practices across design, build, challenge, and run.
- Embed DevSecOps, automated testing, observability, and reliable CI/CD practices.
- Provide technical direction, remove delivery blockers, and guide engineering decisions.
- Mentor software and senior software engineers across Australia and India.
- Collaborate with product, business, and technology stakeholders to translate complex needs into practical solutions.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on Java software engineering and system design experience.
- Demonstrated experience designing and operating microservices and REST APIs in production.
- Practical AWS and Amazon EKS experience, including containerised workloads.
- Experience with CI/CD and Git-based development, ideally using GitHub Actions.
- Strong understanding of DevSecOps, automated testing, code review, and observable production systems.
- Experience leading technical activities, mentoring engineers, and influencing stakeholders.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted engineering tools and practices.
- Exposure to Kafka, event-driven architecture, NoSQL databases, or financial services environments is valuable.
