Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate production services and APIs with clear contracts and integration boundaries.
- Contribute to architecture, refactoring, modularization, performance improvements, and other design decisions.
- Consolidate capabilities onto shared platforms, reduce duplication, and retire legacy technology.
- Build and maintain continuous integration and delivery pipelines, automated testing, and progressive delivery practices.
- Establish reliability and observability through dashboards, alerting, service-level objectives, and operational ownership.
- Engineer secure AI and agentic features involving orchestration, evaluation, and guardrails.
- Embed security, privacy, reliability, risk, and regulatory controls into designs and delivery.
- Raise engineering standards through code reviews, pairing, mentoring, and clear technical reasoning.
Requirements
- Strong computer science foundations in algorithms, data structures, concurrency, and system design.
- Hands-on experience across backend services, APIs, and data integration, with willingness to contribute to internal user interfaces.
- Ability to design and build services using a modern typed language such as Java, Kotlin, Go, or Python, or comparable technologies.
- Full-stack capability including React and TypeScript or equivalent technologies, plus backend-for-frontend layers.
- Understanding of cloud-native delivery, containers, automated pipelines, and production observability.
- A platform mindset focused on reusing proven capabilities, reducing duplication, and simplifying technology estates.
- Ability to build security, privacy, reliability, and risk controls into solutions from the outset.
- Experience or exposure to AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, GitHub Actions, Argo CD, Kafka, Grafana, or Prometheus is useful.
- Experience building or operating AI-enabled systems, including model integration, orchestration, evaluation, and guardrails, is valuable.
- Ability to learn new languages, frameworks, and tools and improve engineering outcomes through collaboration and mentoring.
