Responsibilities
- Own the technical direction and evolution of complex lending systems and services.
- Design and build secure, resilient APIs, microservices, backend components, and data-access layers at scale.
- Lead technical feasibility, solution design, engineering quality, dependency management, operational readiness, and technical delivery.
- Establish cloud delivery, CI/CD strategies, engineering standards, and controls for safe, repeatable delivery.
- Define automated unit, integration, contract, performance, resilience, and security testing strategies.
- Use observability, service-level objectives, and operational data to improve performance, reliability, and customer outcomes.
- Embed security and risk management across architecture, development, and operations.
- Mentor engineers, facilitate design reviews, and create reusable engineering practices across squads.
Requirements
- Experience as a hands-on engineering leader working across code, architecture, and technical strategy.
- Backend engineering experience using C# or a comparable language, with strong computer science and distributed-systems foundations.
- Experience with cloud-native architecture and development on AWS, including resilience, security, scalability, and cost optimization.
- Experience with event-driven and microservices architectures using technologies such as Kafka, Kinesis, Amazon SNS, Amazon SQS, or EventBridge.
- Experience designing RESTful APIs, domain models, service boundaries, and relational and NoSQL data platforms.
- Experience with evolutionary architecture and CI/CD architecture using GitHub Actions, Buildkite, or Octopus.
- Experience with comprehensive automated testing, observability, and SRE practices using metrics, logs, traces, and service-level objectives.
- Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, or CloudWatch is expected within the observability toolset.
- Experience with secure engineering and DevSecOps, including threat modeling, secure-by-design controls, and automated security assurance.
- Experience responsibly using AI coding assistants and agentic engineering workflows, including evaluating outputs and protecting quality, security, and accountability.
- Experience in banking, commercial lending, or another regulated environment is advantageous.
