Responsibilities

  • Partner with strategic customers to understand requirements, solve ambiguous technical problems, and identify opportunities for AMD hardware and software.
  • Close software-stack gaps required to support customer solutions.
  • Optimize collective communication primitives on GPU accelerators using NCCL and RCCL.
  • Develop and deliver solutions hands-on with customers from proof of concept through production.
  • Translate customer needs and field insights into feedback for AMD’s AI roadmap.
  • Use Agentic AI to improve productivity, automate workflows, and increase operational efficiency.
  • Apply data-informed analysis to target optimization efforts, debug existing issues, and research more efficient approaches.
  • Track software and hardware trends, particularly algorithms and architecture.

Requirements

  • Strong programming skills in C/C++ and Python.
  • Experience with GPU kernel programming using CUDA or HIP.
  • Expertise with modern LLM serving frameworks such as vLLM and SGLang.
  • Experience implementing and optimizing attention and KV-cache primitives on GPU accelerators.
  • Strong CPU and GPU performance analysis and optimization skills.
  • Direct client engagement experience solving ambiguous technical problems.
  • Experience with open-source software development, community maintainers, and submitting contributions.
  • Experience communicating project status and other key information to executive leadership.
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
